LEVEL DESIGN
Created 3 different maps for our multiplayer game that had to play well across varying team sizes and different objective-based game modes.
Handled conceptualization based on map requirements, rapid prototyping of the layout in VR, internal and external playtesting to evaluate feedback and hand-off to environment artists to create assets for the deliverable version of the map.
MODULAR VFX DESIGN
The core feature of our gameplay was allowing players to constantly mix and match weapons and modifiers to create a build that fit their gameplay preferences. We needed a system to communicate the effects of any combination of weapon components to the player.
I designed a projectile VFX system that would generate the projectile of any build based on the additive effects of the projectile’s size, shape and color.
It was a challenge to strike a balance between a functional visual aide to represent 300+ weapon combinations, making VFX that are cohesive to art direction and making everything run efficiently on a mobile headset. But I was thrilled with the end result.
